The idea behind setting up Paws (Pets and Wildlife Society) is to raise funds for local animal shelters in the Helsingborg area. For 2020 I have decided to raise funds for Djurhemmet Tassebo.
In addition to funds, which are greatly needed, I want to raise awareness of the suffering and neglect that animals are subjected to on a daily basis and how to own pets responsibly.
The main even will be a sponsored walk from Malmö to Helsingborg but there will also be items for auction donated by artists and tradespeople in the Helsingborg area.
Follow Paws on social media so you don't miss out on the auctions and what's going on with my efforts.
My long-term goal is to set up a charity fund to help with veterinary bills for animals owned by people in need, such as the unemployed, long-term sick and the homeless.
I am from England and there we have various charities such as the PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) that provides low cost and free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need and they also promote responsible pet ownership.
At the forefront of my vision is the welfare of animals. There is no reason why there should not be this kind of support in Sweden, Scandinavia, Europe or the whole world.
